The new generation Honda Civic is the best small family car

The New Car Assessment Program for Southeast Asia (ASEAN NCAP) has just officially announced that the new generation Honda Civic model has achieved the highest 5-star safety certification.

The new Civic has become the third Honda model to receive the highest 5-star safety rating from this prestigious organization, alongside the City and CR-V.

Specifically, the mid-size sedan was rated the highest 5 stars in both frontal and side crash tests, with a score of 14.74/16.00 in the adult protection category and 86%/100% in the child protection category.

With this result, the new generation Civic has been voted the best small family car in the adult protection and child protection categories in the ASEAN NCAP Prix Awards 2016.

Accordingly, the new Civic has become the third Honda model to receive the highest 5-star safety certification according to this prestigious organization's assessment, alongside City and CR-V.

The new Civic achieved this result mainly thanks to being equipped with a series of active and passive safety features in the segment such as 6 airbags, collision-compatible chassis (ACE™), electronic balance system (VSA), active steering control support system (AHA), hill start assist system (HSA), 3-angle rear camera, child safety seat hooks (Isofix), anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (BA) or emergency brake warning system (ESS)...

In particular, Honda Civic is also the first model in segment C to be equipped with advanced safety features such as electronic handbrake (EPB), temporary brake hold mode (Brake Hold) and automatic door locking system.

Also within the framework of the ASEAN NCAP Prix Awards 2016 held at Sepang International Circuit (Malaysia) in late November 2016, Honda became the car company receiving the most awards with ten awards related to safety.

In addition to the Civic being voted the best small family car in the adult and child protection categories, Honda also won the safety technology award with Honda SENSING, the most affordable 5-star safety car award in 7 countries in the Southeast Asian region. In particular, the City compact sedan was voted the most affordable 5-star safety car in Vietnam.

The 10th generation Civic was present in Vietnam at the Vietnam Motor Show 2016 held in early October 2016. It is expected that the Japanese car company will officially sell the all-new Civic to the market in January 2017.
