At the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, Honda is about to launch a hybrid version of the 2018 CR-V crossover. This is a version exclusively for the European market. |
Overall, the 2018 Honda CR-V will retain the same shape and design as the previous generation. |
The 2018 Honda CR-V's hybrid powertrain will include a 2.0-liter i-VTEC Atkinson cycle engine combined with two electric motors. In addition, the car will be equipped with Honda's i-MMD (Hybrid Multi Mode Drive) intelligent driving mode option to help transmit torque distribution more smoothly. |
Honda didn't provide any specs for the hybrid engine on the 2018 CR-V. On the Accord hybrid, the same engine makes a total of 212 horsepower. |
The car has 3 driving modes including using an internal combustion engine (Engine Drive), using an electric motor (EV Drive) and using a combination of 2 engines (Hybrid Drive). |
Customers can choose from a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo gasoline engine, a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard, but customers can also choose a full-time 4-wheel drive system. |
Like in Thailand, the Honda CR-V 2018 in Europe also has a 7-seat version. The specific parameters of the hybrid engine on the Honda CR-V 2018 will be officially announced by Honda at the upcoming Geneva 2018 exhibition. |
