Honda awards young Vietnamese engineers and scientists
Honda Vietnam Company (HVN) has just awarded the Honda Award for Young Vietnamese Engineers and Scientists (Honda YES Award) in 2015 with a total prize value of 30,000 USD and 10 motorbikes produced by Honda Vietnam to the 10 most outstanding faces.
In addition to the above award, these students also have the opportunity to receive the Honda YES Plus award worth 10,000 USD if they study for a postgraduate degree in Japan or 7,000 USD if they are accepted and participate in an internship at universities, institutes or laboratories in Japan for a period of 2.5 months to 1 year within 3 years of receiving the award.
According to Minister of Science and Technology Nguyen Quan, with the goal of developing the field of ecological technology to build advanced science and technology and through supporting talented young scientists, the Honda Award for young Vietnamese engineers and scientists has contributed to lighting up dreams of scientific research and contributing to the development of the country.
This award is to inspire the passion for science for Vietnamese engineers and scientists in the process of studying, researching and creating. Most of the students who won the award are studying for their master's and doctoral degrees abroad and have achieved great success.
Mr. Ho Manh Tuan, First Deputy General Director of HVN, said that this is the 10th consecutive year the Award has been held and students from 8 affiliated universities have participated.
This year's essay topic is "Vietnam is facing major challenges of rapid urbanization. Green urban development is the solution to help Vietnamese cities develop prosperously, sustainably, with identity and in an environmentally friendly manner."
After 3 rounds of competition, 10 best students were selected and received the Honda YES 2015 award, including 5 students from the University of Technology - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 1 student from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, 1 student from Hanoi University of Transport, 1 student from University of Science - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, 1 student from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and 1 student from Ho Chi Minh City University of Science.
After 10 years of accompanying Vietnamese students, the Honda YES Award has a total of 823 applications with 100 outstanding faces honored at the award ceremony and 15 students receiving the YES Plus award to study for a master's degree or do an internship in Japan./.
