Japanese car company in Vietnam recalled 1,524 City cars to replace the front passenger airbag inflator from March 10.

The recall is related to the possibility that the front passenger airbag inflator may over-pressurize, causing the airbag to malfunction in the event of a collision. Specifically, the airbag inflator contains ammonium nitrate that is not self-drying.
During vehicle use, under the influence of high temperature and humidity for a long time, the Ammonium Nitrate control mechanism in the airbag pump is affected, leading to the airbag pump exploding with overpressure. At that time, there may be debris that is dangerous to passengers.
Honda Vietnam has not recorded any cases in the Vietnamese market. The company recommends that customers quickly bring their vehicles to the dealer to check and replace the new, standard airbag inflator.
In 2017, the Japanese car company recalled many cars such as Accord and Odyssey with faulty rearview mirrors, Civic with faulty cooling system pipes, and Accord, Civic and CR-V with faulty airbags in the front passenger airbag.
