Honda introduces new Rebel 500 and Rebel 300 duo

Possessing the same design but different engine capacity, the new Rebel 500 is expected to cost 6,000 USD and the Rebel 300 is priced at 4,400 USD in the US.

Honda surprised those present at the Long Beach motorcycle show taking place in the US by introducing two cruiser models, the Rebel 500 and Rebel 300. Marking the return to the cruiser segment with a compact, muscular and simple American-style design.

There are no significant differences between the two new cruiser models except for the engine. The Honda Rebel 500 is equipped with a 471cc, liquid-cooled, 2-cylinder DOHC engine that can produce 48 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 44.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. 6-speed gearbox. This engine is taken from its brother, the CBR500R.

The Rebel 300 uses the same engine but with a smaller capacity, 286cc, inherited from the CBR300R. Both models use a tubular frame, a 1,488mm wheelbase, and a single seat with a height of 690mm. ABS brakes are optional.

Front suspension system: 41 mm diameter telescopic fork, double spring rear shock absorber. Single disc brake: 296 mm diameter for both front wheel 130/90-16 and rear wheel 150/80-16.

The expected price for the two non-ABS versions is expected to be $6,000 for the Rebel 500 and $4,400 for the Rebel 300. The bikes are expected to be available in April 2017 in three color options, including red, black and metallic silver. There will also be exclusive options for the Rebel 500 in yellow and the Rebel 300 in white.
