Honda Winner 150 - a rival to the Yamaha Exciter 150 in Vietnam.

Honda Vietnam has unexpectedly introduced the Winner 150, a sporty manual motorcycle that competes with the Yamaha Exciter 150, and it will be available for sale starting in June.

Despite fierce competition in every segment, the sporty manual motorcycle segment remains a source of pride for Yamaha with the Exciter, much like Honda has the SH in the premium scooter segment in the Vietnamese market. Many people have always wondered why Honda hasn't launched a manual motorcycle to rival the Exciter, similar to how they introduced the Air Blade to compete with the Nouvo? And now, we have the Winner 150, Honda's first manual motorcycle manufactured in Vietnam, and also the first model to directly compete with the Exciter in terms of both engine capacity and overall design style.

A new rival to the Yamaha Exciter 150, the Honda Winner 150 was launched at the Vietnam Motor Show 2016.

In terms of appearance, the Honda Winner 150 boasts a sporty style with aggressive, sharp lines that are both sleek and elegant when viewed from the front and rear. However, when viewed from the side, the front of the bike appears slightly humped due to the high-angled front fairings. This design is popular in many other Southeast Asian markets such as Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The headlights utilize LED technology, while the instrument cluster incorporates a modern LCD screen.

Besides the design, the biggest concern regarding the Winner 150 is undoubtedly its engine and transmission system. The bike uses a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder 150cc engine with electronic fuel injection and a 4.5-liter fuel tank. The engine produces 14.75 horsepower at 9,000 rpm and 13.5 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The Winner 150 has a 6-speed transmission instead of the 5-speed found on the Exciter 150. This is considered an advantage, especially when riding long distances at high speeds.

Other specifications of the Honda Winner 150 include telescopic front suspension and a sporty single-shock rear suspension. The bike uses tubeless tires with a front diameter of 90/80 and a rear diameter of 120/70, which helps increase traction, especially when cornering.

Currently, Honda has not revealed the official price of the Winner 150, only that it will be available in June in two versions and four different colors. It is likely that Honda will price the Winner 150 slightly higher than its competitor, Yamaha.
