What is a gearbox in a car and what is its role?
The gearbox is one of the most important parts of a car. Without it, your car cannot move.

A car is made up of thousands of parts. However, some of those parts are more important than others, and the transmission is one of those parts. Without it, your car wouldn't be able to move.
What is a gearbox?
The gearbox is the part that transmits power from the engine to the drive system. The gearbox is used to change the gear ratio to change the torque at the wheels, and at the same time change the vehicle's speed to match the external resistance.

In theory, an internal combustion engine only produces maximum power and torque in a narrow rpm range. The transmission allows the gear ratio of the engine and the drive axle to change as the vehicle accelerates and decelerates, changing gears so that the engine always works below the limit point and operates close to the ideal rpm.
In ideal mode, the gearbox will maintain the gear ratio so that the engine always operates at the most optimal rpm.
Gearbox mission
- The gearbox is used to change the transmission ratio to change the torque at the vehicle's driving wheels, and at the same time change the vehicle's running speed to suit the external resistance.
- Change the direction of vehicle movement (forward and reverse).
- Disconnect the engine from the transmission for any length of time without turning off the engine and opening the clutch.
- Drive the dynamics out for the working parts of the specialized vehicle
- The gearbox must have enough reasonable gear ratios to improve the economy and dynamics of the car.
- The gearbox must have high power transmission efficiency, not make noise when working, change gears smoothly without creating impact force on the gears.
