Hotboy 1m86 Quoc Anh: In real life, I'm not good at 'flirting'

I am childish, carefree and thoughtless.

- What chance brought you to VFC TV series?

I have been a fan of VFC TV series for a long time but have not had the opportunity to be cast and participate. When I received an invitation to Hanoi to cast and participate in a new VFC film and heard the description of the character Lam, I really liked it and wanted to experience this character right away so I agreed to participate in the film.

- How is Lam similar and different from Quoc Anh in real life?

Lam is a calm, straightforward, emotional guy who loves his family and is very attentive to his girlfriend. Lam has a great desire to advance in his career, even willing to trade love for his career opportunities. Lam and I are similar in that we are both family-loving and emotional people, but the difference is probably that I am more childish, carefree, less thoughtful than Lam and also not as good at "flirting" as Lam.(laugh).

- Can Lam from "Us 8 Years Later" make it difficult for Quoc Anh with this performance?

The first time I participated in a VFC film, I was extremely nervous and excited. I am an amateur actor, not much acting experience and still have some limitations, especially in dialogue. I was lucky to have director Bui Tien Huy guide me on acting and how to deliver the dialogue to suit the character. He spent a whole month for me and my co-actors to meet, discuss and practice before officially starting filming.Us 8 years later.

- Acting in VTV primetime dramas is currently considered a great opportunity for many actors. For you, is this an opportunity or a challenge?

This is my luck. After the movie, my image is more widely known to the audience, I have more fans and am more accepted by the audience. I do not feel pressured but see this as a motivation for me to try harder to improve my acting ability.

- How has Quoc Anh progressed and matured in acting compared to the first time he acted in a movie?

In his first movie,Trang QuynhDirector Duc Thinh once gave me the nickname “10-word boy” because I could only speak clearly in 10 words or less. Now I am much more confident in my acting. I know how to live with the character as well as act so that the audience can understand and sympathize with my character.

- Considered a new generation male god of Vietnamese television dramas, what does Quoc Anh think about this?

To participate in a VTV primetime drama is really not easy. The directors have very high requirements for acting, so if you are not really serious and try hard, you will definitely be eliminated immediately. The directors are also experienced and talented people, so I believe that by choosing me for a male lead role, they must have seen my ability and potential. ThroughUs 8 years later,I think the audience saw me in a different light, not just as an actor with good looks.

- It cannot be denied that appearance is a huge advantage of Quoc Anh. What are the positive and negative points that this brings to you on your acting path?

The positive point is that I have more opportunities to be noticed by directors. Besides, I also have the pressure to prove my acting ability. In the past 5 years, I have always tried, learned more about acting, observed my seniors and every time I accepted a film, I researched a lot for my role.

I get sad easily but also get over it quickly.

- Thinking back, was there a time when pursuing art made Quoc Anh so tired and pressured that he wanted to give up?

I am lucky that the path to art is not too thorny. As an amateur actor, I have received many good and impressive roles. I am always grateful and cherish the opportunities that come to me. Although there are times when I am tired and pressured, I have never thought of giving up this job.

- How do you deal with praise and criticism of your acting?

I am a person who gets upset easily but also gets over it quickly. There are times when I receive criticism about my acting, I get upset and also review myself, review my role. However, I do not let myself be sad for too long but consider it as advice to help me improve.

- Born in Hanoi but moved to the South to pursue art, there must be many temptations for someone with a handsome appearance like Quoc Anh?

Everyone says this profession is full of temptations, but until now I have not received any temptations.(laugh).Looking at me, everyone says I must be a party animal, but I live a very simple life. I don’t go out much or hang out at restaurants, I just like to stay home, cook, play games, and take care of the house. In the South, I only have a group of friends who accompanied and helped me when I first moved to the South. These are the people who gave me a lot of useful advice and made me more confident when I decided to move to the South.

- Maybe many fangirls are curious about what kind of girl will make Quoc Anh's heart flutter?

I am an emotional and family-loving person. So I like a girl who is like me, emotional, family-loving and caring for people around her. And most importantly, she must be able to tolerate my childishness!

- In the future, how do you want to portray yourself as an actor or artist in the eyes of your fans?

I want to try my hand at more different characters. At the same time, I also hope to be more accepted and loved by the audience. The love of the audience is the motivation for me to try and develop every day.
