Coach Cristiano Roland is very happy with the dedicated playing style of the Vietnam U17 team.
Speaking after the practice match between the Vietnam U17 team and the Hanoi U17 team, coach Cristiano Roland was very happy with the dedicated playing style of his students.
Afternoon of September 27, the teamU17 Vietnamhad a practice match with the Hanoi U17 team. At the end of the match, coach Roland's team won with a score of 2-1. After the match, the head coach of the Vietnam U17 team also shared with the media.

Evaluating the match with U17 Hanoi, coach Roland shared: "The important thing is the players' fighting spirit on the field. We value the pace of the game, the way we implement the game and are improving the team's mobility. In the game, the players are the ones who play the decisive role on the field and we will try to support them to have the best preparation steps. In general, the players need to think about the situation faster to make decisions to handle the ball faster. The pace of the game is getting faster and faster, so this is something we have to adapt to."

Commenting on the faces called up to the team for the first time, including overseas Vietnamese player Maxwell James Peereboom, Mr. Roland said: "In this training session, there are a few new faces and we will continue to evaluate, not just any player. The players not only have to adapt to the playing style but also the training intensity. I am very happy that the players have played very dedicatedly.

Every match cannot avoid mistakes. We are currently discussing the training list in Japan. In the past two weeks, we have been training with a tight schedule and high intensity. Most importantly, the coaching staff wants to train the whole team to be strong and resilient to best prepare for the U17 Asian qualifiers. In the coming time, the training pace will gradually decrease to ensure the best condition for the whole team."

"When working with young players, we cannot only talk about the style of play but also how to play. We work meticulously on each situation, each set piece, how to transition, whether with or without the ball, we must be ready to seize the opportunity. In recent matches, U17 Vietnam has scored goals from quick attacks, initiated by the goalkeeper or pressing situations to regain the ball. The goalkeeper plays an important role in the team's coordination with teammates. This is my football philosophy. However, when the goalkeeper moves up, he must be prepared for the situation of losing the ball, the team's distance must be reasonable," coach Roland added.

According to the plan, the Vietnam U17 team will train at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center until September 29, 2024, then go to Japan for training and competition from September 30 to October 9, 2024. On October 10, the Vietnam U17 team will return home to complete the final preparations before participating.2025 AFC U17 Championship Qualifiers.

In order to create more favorable conditions for the Vietnam U17 team to compete for a ticket to the continental finals and gain the trust of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), VFF has decided to host the U17 team's group in the 2025 AFC U17 Qualifiers.
