Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung has just signed a decision to include the folk performing arts and folk knowledge of Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao into the list of national intangible cultural heritage. Viet Vo Dao is a traditional martial art of the Vietnamese people founded by the late martial artist Nguyen Loc in 1938 in Hanoi. Later, this martial art was called Vovinam, consisting of 2 parts: Vietnamese Martial Arts (Viet Vo Thuat) and Vietnamese Martial Arts (Viet Vo Dao).

In 1960, the late master Le Sang took over the position of Grand Master, continuing his career of promoting and developing Vovinam. He and other masters researched and studied to perfect the system of theory, techniques and martial arts, thereby building a solid foundation for Vietnamese martial arts.

The Council of Vovinam Masters was established in 2010, marking a new milestone for Vietnamese martial arts. The late Grand Master Nguyen Van Chieu and other masters have strongly spread Vovinam to international friends across five continents.

With a system of national, scientific, practical, and creative techniques, along with a martial philosophy and a selfless heart, Vovinam - Viet Vo Dao has contributed to introducing the country and people of Vietnam to the international community.

Up to now, Vovinam has been present in more than 70 countries and territories around the world, attracting more than 2.5 million students to practice and continue to develop. Vovinam Viet Vo Dao is a special cultural product of the Vietnamese people and the more it develops both domestically and internationally, the more it contributes to promoting Vietnamese culture and image to the world.

Pencak Silat Vietnam won 8 Gold Medals at the Asian Championship

After 5 days of competition, Vietnamese athletes performed excellently and won 8 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals and 9 Bronze Medals, ranking 2nd overall at the 7th Asian Pencak Silat Championship - 2023.

Of which, 8 Gold Medals belong to Quang Thi Thu Nghia (75kg women), Le Thi Van Anh (60kg women), Ca Thi Minh (80kg women), Tran Thi Diep (85kg women), Nguyen Tan Sang (80kg men), Le Van Toan (+95kg men), Vu Duy Thanh (60kg men), Le Ngoc Vu (+110kg men).

The Silver Medals went to Nguyen Duy Tuyen (men's 85kg), Nguyen Minh Triet (men's 65kg) and Vu Duc Hung (men's 75kg).
