“Huawei's own operating system could hit the market as early as this fall and as late as next spring,” said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group.
He noted that this is a unified operating system for phones, computers, tablets and other products.
"We are ready to continue to cooperate with Google and Microsoft, but we have no other way out, we are forced to do so," he added.
In mid-May, the US Department of Commerce placed Huawei on a “blacklist”, preventing the Chinese company from buying components and technology from US manufacturers. Huawei is also on a list of companies banned from doing business with US companies without the appropriate licenses.
On May 20, Google suspended cooperation with Huawei in areas that require the transfer of equipment, software and technical services, except for publicly accessible services under open licenses.
