Trailing in the first half, Hanoi FC staged a successful comeback against PVF-CAND, winning 2-1 thanks to a moment of brilliance from Do Hung Dung and a penalty goal from Van Tung.
An impressive comeback
Hanoi FC secured their first victory in the Four-Team Friendly Tournament after a dramatic 2-1 comeback win against PVF-CAND. Trailing after the first 45 minutes, the capital city team showed a completely different face in the second half, with captain Do Hung Dung making the biggest impact with a spectacular free-kick from over 30 meters.
Entering the match after their opening day defeat against HAGL, Hanoi FC started cautiously with a lineup consisting of many young players. The first half was fairly balanced, however, a lack of experience in defense cost them dearly. In the 39th minute, after a scramble, Nguyen Bao Long quickly finished the ball into the net, giving PVF-CAND a 1-0 lead.
The second half exploded.
After the break, Hanoi FC pushed their formation higher and increased the pressure significantly. Coach Daiki Iwamasa's team completely controlled the midfield, forcing their opponents deep into their own half. Under Hung Dung's leadership, the attacks became more incisive. In the 56th minute, Vu Tien Long unleashed a powerful long-range shot that hit the crossbar, signaling a turbulent first half for the PVF-CAND goal.
Hanoi FC's relentless pressure finally paid off with a moment of genius. In the 68th minute, from a free kick more than 30 meters out, Do Hung Dung unleashed a powerful, curling shot that nestled straight into the net, leaving the goalkeeper helpless and leveling the score at 1-1.

Buoyed by the equalizer, the visiting team continued to press forward and just a few minutes later, they were awarded a penalty when a PVF-CAND defender handled the ball in the penalty area. From the penalty spot, striker Nguyen Van Tung made no mistake, calmly finishing to complete the comeback for Hanoi FC.
The final, breathtaking minutes
In the remaining minutes, PVF-CAND poured all their efforts into attacking to find an equalizer. The home team created immense pressure and had many good scoring opportunities, but strikers like Noel Mbo, Quoc Kien, and Van Vinh were unable to capitalize. Ultimately, Hanoi FC secured a 2-1 victory, earning their first three points of the tournament.
