Hung Nguyen: Exchange program for exemplary population clubs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of July 9th, the Hung Nguyen District Population and Family Planning Center organized a commemoration of World Population Day and an exchange among exemplary population, family planning, and reproductive health clubs.

In response to World Population Day 2015 with the theme "Supporting healthcare services for vulnerable people affected by natural disasters," Hung Nguyen district focused on reproductive health care and providing family planning services to women in flood-prone areas, where conditions such as access to clean water and sanitation negatively impact women's reproductive health. Through communication and advocacy activities, the district integrated reproductive health and family planning services directly with the people.

As part of the activities commemorating World Population Day, the Hung Nguyen Population Center organized an exchange of best practices among family population/reproductive health/family planning clubs.

Recognizing that communication and advocacy are key solutions contributing to the success of population and family planning work, the Hung Nguyen population sector has recently collaborated with women's associations, farmers' associations, and senior citizens' organizations to establish clubs such as "Family Shelter," "Living Happily and Healthily," "No Third Child" club, and "Family Planning" club.

To date, Hung Nguyen district has more than 80 clubs focusing on population, reproductive health, and family planning. Many of these clubs have become popular activity centers attracting a large number of members.

The activities of Population/Reproductive Health/Family Planning clubs have made a significant contribution to the communication and advocacy efforts to effectively implement population and family planning policies.

On this occasion, the District People's Committee presented gifts to outstanding family planning clubs.
