Hung Nguyen opens the 8th session of the 18th term of the People's Council.

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 18, 2014, the 18th session of the Nghean District People's Council, term 2011-2016, officially opened.

In the first six months of the year, the socio-economic development of the district continued to progress. The total production value (at 2010 prices) was 1,833.3/3,601.6 billion VND, with an economic growth rate of 7.12% (compared to the target of 6-7%), and per capita income of 23 million VND. Production value in all sectors and fields increased: Agriculture, forestry, and fisheries: 458.4/825.5 billion VND, an increase of 4.05% compared to the same period; Industry and construction: 985.9/1,994.9 billion VND, an increase of 8.05% compared to the same period; Services: 389.0/781.2 billion VND, an increase of 9.5% compared to the same period.

Total budget revenue in the district, managed by the district, reached 38.866 billion VND, equivalent to 50.8% of the area allocated by the province, 42.9% of the area allocated by the district, and 102.3% compared to the same period last year. Total budget expenditure was 205.0 billion VND, equivalent to 50.8% of the area. Budget expenditure was strictly managed according to the budget plan, ensuring compliance with norms, regulations, and saving costs, preventing waste; the allocation and procurement of equipment were managed in accordance with Resolution 11/CP; expenditures for implementing policies and social welfare were managed and disbursed promptly and in accordance with regulations.

Based on the assessment of the results achieved in the first six months of the year, the report outlines the key tasks for the last six months of the year for departments, units, and communes/townships to continue innovating and improving working methods, upholding a sense of responsibility, in order to create a clear transformation in the spirit, attitude, and quality of service to the people, in conjunction with the implementation of Resolution No. 4 of the Central Committee (11th Congress), "some urgent issues in Party building today," promoting administrative reform, applying the one-stop mechanism for procedures, and focusing on decisively and synchronously directing the work of collecting state budget revenue to achieve 100%. Promoting the national target program for building "new rural areas," "land consolidation and exchange to encourage farmers to accumulate land," effectively implementing the project to support rapid and sustainable poverty reduction, doing well in agricultural production, cultural and artistic activities, sports and physical training to celebrate major holidays, especially competing to achieve accomplishments to celebrate the 545th anniversary of the name of Hung Nguyen district.

In addition to the mandated reports, the session will approve 06 proposals and 08 resolutions related to the socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, and social welfare in the area.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the delegates elected Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, a member of the District People's Council and Deputy Head of the District Justice Department, to the position of Standing Member of the District People's Council, replacing Mr. Nguyen Xuan Truong who retired.
