(Baonghean.vn)Recently, due to the lack of heavy rain and flooding in the fields, rats have been breeding and multiplying rapidly in Hung Nguyen district, especially in semi-mountainous areas, high hills, bushes, and areas near residential zones. To ensure safe production, Hung Nguyen district has launched a rat eradication campaign among the entire population. Accordingly, targets have been set for households at 3-5 rat tails per sao (approximately 1000 square meters) of rice field, and for schools at 4 rat tails per student.

To date, the entire district has eradicated 136,182 rats, including 15,805 in schools and 120,377 in residential areas. Communes with high results include the town (20,100 rats), Hung Thinh (15,700 rats), Hung Tan (15,000 rats), etc. Currently, Hung Nguyen has brought water to the fields to prepare for spring rice planting. The district continues to direct communes to purchase rat poison and focus on eradicating rats along field boundaries and embankments across the entire area.
