Hung Nguyen launches a campaign to mobilize the entire population to build new rural areas.
(Baonghean.vn) -On April 7th, Hung Nguyen district launched the movement "All citizens join forces to build new rural areas".
The district has 22 communes and towns. Surveys show that only 2 communes have met 9 criteria, 2 communes have met 2 criteria, and the remaining communes have met 5 criteria. In line with the targets set by the Provincial Steering Committee for New Rural Development, by 2020, more than 50% of the communes in the district must be recognized as achieving new rural development status.

Local people actively participate in building rural roads.
To achieve the set targets, the district has directed localities to actively implement planning work. To date, the planning work has been basically completed, with some communes awaiting approval. The entire district is striving for each commune to have a model of production transformation that generates high income.
With the motto of leveraging all resources to accelerate progress and avoid a mentality of waiting and relying on others, the district has directed localities to focus on mobilizing and effectively utilizing resources to speed up the construction of rural infrastructure, build and apply scientific and technological advancements to production, and transfer production models with high economic efficiency.
On this occasion, the District Fatherland Front called on all sectors of the population to join hands in building new rural areas. On behalf of the District Party Committee, Comrade Hoang Van Phi - Secretary of the District Party Committee - delivered a speech assigning tasks to each department and commune-level government.
Hung Nguyen district aims to have 20% of its communes meet the standards by 2015 and 50% by 2020.
