(Baonghean.vn) - On July 4th, the Farmers' Association of Hung Nguyen district held a meeting to summarize its work during the first six months of 2014.

Over the past six months, the farmers' associations at all levels in Hung Nguyen district have advised the Party Committee on the five-year review of the implementation of Conclusion No. 61 KL/TW of the Central Party Secretariat on "Enhancing the role of the Vietnam Farmers' Association in agricultural production development, building new rural areas, and building the Vietnamese peasant class in the period 2010-2020"; organized 164 propaganda sessions for 32,963 people on Party directives and resolutions, State policies and laws; encouraged cadres and farmer members to continue promoting the "study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's moral example"; mobilized support for Truong Sa with 145 million VND; and coordinated with the Social Policy Bank to provide loans to farmer members for production development with a total outstanding loan balance of over 55 billion VND, benefiting 3,287 households and over 2,700 households. In coordination with other organizations, 29 training courses on the transfer of scientific and technical knowledge were organized for farmer members, with 1,653 participants; in collaboration with BMT Fertilizer Factory and Nghe An Agricultural Supplies, 970 tons of various fertilizers were supplied to support agricultural production…

Implementing the emulation movement for building new rural areas, consolidating land plots, and encouraging people to accumulate land, the various levels of the Farmers' Association mobilized cadres and members to repair and build over 15km of rural roads, worth over 8 billion VND, with 5,000 man-days of labor and the donation of over 300m of land.² Land, 141m of fence.

In the coming period, the District Farmers' Association will proactively advise and seek the leadership of Party committees and authorities at all levels to improve operational efficiency, organize the construction of model fields, participate in the implementation of the national target program on building new rural areas, land consolidation and exchange, and encourage people to accumulate land. In particular, it will effectively implement the project on organizing service activities, consulting, support, and vocational training to help farmers develop production.
