NHKChiba prefectural police said Linh's route from home to school was not popular with people living outside the area. This elementary school is about a 10-minute walk from Linh's house and she often goes to school by herself.
A member of the local crime prevention group, who monitors the students, said volunteers often saw Linh going to school on this road.
Investigators suspect Linh was abducted just minutes after leaving her home because security cameras in the area did not capture her on the day she went missing. They are looking for information about suspicious people in the area.
However, on the morning of March 24, they did not see the girl and she was later reported missing by her family.According to the person above, it would be difficult for the perpetrator to know the way if he was not familiar with the area.
A classmate of Linh’s said last month that she had told him about seeing a suspicious stranger on her way to school in January. Since then, Linh has been scared and often runs past the person.
naked bodyLinh's body was found on a grassy area near a sewer in Abiko City, about 10 kilometers from her home, on the morning of March 26. She died from strangulation and had several small injuries on her arms and legs.
On March 27, Linh’s red backpack was also found along the Tone River in Bando City, Ibaraki Prefecture, more than 10 kilometers northwest of where her body was found. Some of the girl’s clothes were scattered about 500 meters from the riverbank and are being verified to see if they belong to Linh.
There are currently no witnesses who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area.
