Hungary is assisting Vietnam in building a population management system.
On the afternoon of May 8th, in Hanoi, Lieutenant General Pham Quy Ngo, Deputy Minister of Public Security, held a working meeting with Mr. Gabor Fekete, Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Administration and Justice, regarding the implementation of the "Building a Population Management System" project using preferential credit from the Hungarian Government.

Previously, at the 4th session of the Vietnam-Hungary Joint Committee in Hanoi at the end of October 2012, the Ministry of Public Security signed the Master Contract and Commercial Contract with the consortium of contractors introduced by Hungary to implement the Project.
Accordingly, the project is being piloted in Hai Phong city with the goal of building a unified population management system in the area to provide accurate and timely basic information about the population to serve state management, meet the requirements of socio-economic development, ensure national defense and security, and meet the needs of citizens.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Pham Quy Ngo stated that the "Building a Population Management System" project, funded by the Hungarian Government, is an important project in reforming administrative procedures and institutionalizing public administration in residence management in Vietnam.
To ensure the project is implemented effectively and on schedule, Deputy Minister Pham Quy Ngo requested that Hungary promptly implement the credit agreement for the project; and urged the winning bidder to focus all resources and successfully implement the project according to the contract signed with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.
The Deputy Minister also requested that, in addition to the pilot project in Hai Phong city, the Hungarian Government consider allocating more ODA funds to enable the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to soon expand the population management project to other provinces and cities.
Mr. Gabor Fekete affirmed that Hungary will actively support and assist Vietnam in implementing the aforementioned project to achieve the best possible results.
