The Ministry of Education and Training has recently issued a document providing guidance on direct admission, priority admission, and admission to regular university and college programs in 2014.

Students who win a consolation prize in the national high school 12th grade student excellence competition are admitted directly to colleges in majors that are the same or closely related to the subject in which they won the prize. For example, students who win a prize in Chemistry are admitted directly to colleges specializing in Chemistry Education, Food Technology, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, etc.

For candidates who win prizes in the Science and Technology Competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, based on the results of the winning candidate's scientific and technical research project or topic, the Directors of universities and academies; and the Principals of universities and colleges will consider direct admission to a suitable major based on the results of the winning project or topic.

In the case of candidates who win prizes in the national excellent student selection exam or the science and technology competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, if they have not yet graduated from high school, their eligibility will be reserved until after they graduate from high school.

The Ministry of Education and Training requires the Departments of Education and Training to guide high schools with candidates eligible for direct admission or priority admission to fill out the direct admission registration form, priority admission registration form, and direct admission registration form.

Based on the regulations of the Admission Regulations for regular university and college programs and the list of training majors eligible for direct admission, universities and colleges shall specify the details of direct admission to academic majors, priority admission, and direct admission, and publicly announce them on the school's website, the Ministry of Education and Training's entrance examination information website, and through mass media before April 15, 2014.
