Huong Tram and Soobin's coaching abilities are suspected at The Voice Kids.

Young artists make the media worry about their ability to teach young singers with a talent for folk music.

On the afternoon of July 17 at Gem Center (HCMC), the four coaches of The Voice Kids including Soobin Hoang Son, Huong Tram, Tien Cookie and Vu Cat Tuong appeared together at the press conference to launch the program.

During the event, the coaches of this year's season received many compliments from music director Luu Thien Huong about their composing ability along with other professional factors. According to the assessment, this will be a very good foundation in the process of training and guiding the children.

However, the powerful quartet was once again questioned about their ability to train young singers to pursue folk music.

Traditionally, The Voice Kids seasons have welcomed a large number of contestants who are capable of singing folk songs. However, the fact that the coaches are all prominent faces of the youth music genre, with no previous experience in this genre, has made many people worry that it will not create fair opportunities for all children.

In response to this question, both Huong Tram and Soobin Hoang Son are quite confident in their ability to train young singers, including those who love and have the ability to sing in the traditional music genre. The female singer added that her family and her male colleague both have a tradition of traditional music as well as a long history of studying this musical aspect, so there is nothing to worry about.

To add more persuasion, the two young coaches immediately performed two Northern folk songs.

In The Voice Kids season 2016, when the coaches Dong Nhi – Ong Cao Thang, Noo Phuoc Thinh and Vu Cat Tuong also faced similar doubts. However, overcoming the initial criticism, the coaching couple successfully trained champion Nhat Minh who can sing many genres of music, including cheo.

The last contestant of Vu Cat Tuong’s team is Thuy Binh, who is also a singer of “pure” Southern folk songs. Overcoming the initial obstacles, the 5th season ended quite impressively and in fact, the contestants who sang folk songs were not abandoned.

The first episode, the Blind Audition round of The Voice Kids 2017 will officially air every Saturday night on VTV3 starting from August 12.
