Focusing on rural and mountainous areas
(Baonghean.vn) - The "Vietnamese People" campaign
PV: One of the activities that has received attention and been implemented nationwide is the Program to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas. Could you please tell us about the results of the program's implementation in our province?
Mr. Nguyen Hong Nhi (NHN)Regarding the program to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas, the Department of Industry and Trade is the "main" unit. The Department of Industry and Trade has directed commercial centers, stores, and supermarkets in Vinh City and the two towns of Cua Lo and Thai Hoa to prioritize the display and sale of products manufactured within the province and nationwide. At the same time, it has focused on organizing and introducing products from Vietnamese businesses at trade fairs in the districts. In 2010, there were more than 45 booths from businesses within the province and over 200 booths from outside the province showcasing and selling their products.
In 2011, the program to bring Vietnamese goods to rural areas was implemented in Tan Ky, Yen Thanh, and Thanh Chuong districts by the following enterprises: Vietnam-Laos Economic Cooperation Investment Joint Stock Company and Intimex Supermarket Branch in Nghe An. The Market Management Department intensified investigations, surveys, and prevention of the trading of counterfeit, fake, smuggled, and substandard goods, creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese goods.

In 2011, the first "Bringing Vietnamese Goods to Rural Areas" program was implemented in three districts of Nghe An province.
PV: What obstacles are still being encountered during the implementation process, and in your opinion, what suggestions are needed to ensure the program is implemented more effectively in the future?
Mr. Nguyen Hong NhiAccording to the regulations of the Central Steering Committee, the Steering Committee for the Campaign can only be established at two levels (central and provincial), making it difficult to implement the Campaign at the grassroots level (district and commune). Therefore, we request that the Central Steering Committee provide more flexible guidance on establishing Steering Committees for localities with large geographical areas like Nghe An. Simultaneously, the Central Steering Committee should compile guidance and promotional materials about the Campaign. Party committees at all levels need to strengthen their leadership, guidance, and supervision of the Politburo's policies on the Campaign's implementation in their respective localities. Regular inspections and specific solutions are needed to encourage, motivate, and promote the sense of responsibility of exemplary cadres and party members in the production and consumption of Vietnamese goods.
PV: After two years of implementation, could you share some of your experiences during the process?
Mr. Nguyen Hong NhiTo ensure the campaign achieves high results, it first requires the attention and leadership of Party committees, governments at all levels, and heads of agencies in its implementation. The standing committee must be dedicated and highly responsible. Members of the Provincial Steering Committee need to regularly spend more time checking on the situation and urging units and localities to implement the campaign. Propaganda and mobilization work must be carried out regularly and continuously; the forms of propaganda must be practical and suitable to the tastes and customs of each region and area in the province. In implementing the campaign, the key task must be clearly defined as the residential areas, especially rural areas, remote areas, and mountainous areas.
During the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dragon, the Provincial Steering Committee implemented the campaign's contents specifically according to the functions of each member to direct, guide, and inspect to ensure that goods are basically domestically produced, so that people can enjoy the New Year with peace of mind.
PV: Thank you, sir!
