Mobilizing resources of over 2.5 billion VND to care for relatives of martyrs

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of January 10, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province held a conference to summarize activities in 2022 and deploy tasks in 2023. In 2022, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province has promoted and effectively implemented activities to honor martyrs as well as care for and support martyrs' families. Specifically, the Association received 185 more information about martyrs from Nghe An who died on the battlefields (over 8 years, nearly 6,000 information were received) to coordinate with authorities and families to search for and bury martyrs' remains; presented 1,850 gifts to relatives of martyrs; presented 14 savings books to martyrs' families in the districts and towns of Yen Thanh, Quynh Luu, Dien Chau, Hoang Mai, Nam Dan with a total value of 120 million VND; Coordinate with agencies, departments, branches, organizations, and benefactors to build and repair gratitude houses, give gifts, and grant savings books to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, policy families, relatives of martyrs, and war invalids in the province with a total amount of over 4 billion VND.

As of December 31, 2022, after 8 years of establishment, the Provincial Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs has donated more than 9,000 gifts; 371 savings books, 464 houses, upgraded 6 cemeteries; 69 wheelchairs; 105 bicycles and offered incense and flowers at martyr cemeteries, the total amount of support for gratitude to martyrs is over 46 billion VND.

From the above results, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Central Association along with 12 collectives and 14 individuals. The Provincial People's Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to the association for its outstanding achievements in gratitude work from 2017 to 2022, and 1 collective and 8 other individuals. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit to the association from 2019 to 2022 and an Excellent Certificate of Merit in 2022 (in 8 years, the association was awarded 120 Certificates of Merit by all levels to collectives and individuals).

In the coming time, the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Nghe An province will continue to promote the search for martyrs' remains and identify martyrs; focus on building, repairing and handing over gratitude houses; coordinate with agencies, departments, sectors and organizations to organize activities to care for and support martyrs' families on major national holidays; continue to mobilize resources from 2 to 2.5 billion VND to carry out the task of paying tribute to martyrs and caring for and supporting martyrs' families.

At the summary meeting, the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs and the Nghe An Province Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs awarded 5 groups and 6 individuals who had excellently completed their tasks as well as actively contributed to the activities of honoring martyrs, caring for and supporting martyrs' families in 2022. The Nghe An Province Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs also presented letters of thanks and gratitude to individuals, organizations and businesses./.
