(Baonghean.vn) - Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company has just mobilized many means of equipment to transport over 50,000 m3soil and rock to rebuild the pier for the 70,000-ton ship in Nghi Thiet (Nghi Loc - Nghe An). At the same time, the unit organized drilling of many piles tens of meters deep to pour pillars for the conveyor belt to transport Clinker and cement to the wharf.

However, storm No. 2 (early July 2017), with waves tens of meters high, swept away the entire Nghi Thiet wharf, which was nearly 100 meters long and more than 10 meters deep. At the same time, the conveyor system connecting to the seaport was also broken. The wharf, which is more than 2 kilometers long and extends out to sea, had to be delayed for nearly 2 months. When put into use, the wharf will initially serve the export of cement and clinker of Song Lam Cement Joint Stock Company. In the long term, the port will be upgraded to an international port for the entire North Central region. The Nghi Thiet Deep-water Port Project is considered an important project that not only creates a "push" for the development of Nghe An province and the North Central provinces but also promotes economic exchanges with the Northeastern regions of Thailand and Central Laos. |
