On March 5, 2025, Nghe An Newspaper published an article “Despite the suspension order, the illegal woodchip factory still deliberately operates”. Immediately after that, on March 6, 2025, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district issued a document requesting the suspension of operations at this illegal woodchip factory.

As reported, on February 23, 2025, the authorities of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district conducted an inspection and discovered a newly built illegal wood chip production facility, built by Mr. Nguyen Van H, located in Quyet Tien village, Chi Khe commune. Immediately afterwards, the authorities drew up a record of administrative violations, requested to stop the operation and submit it to the competent authority for handling.

Then, on February 24, Mr. Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee and the working group directly inspected this unlicensed wood chip processing facility. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the local authorities to closely monitor the suspension of this facility's operations.

After receiving feedback from Nghe An Newspaper about this facility, on March 6, 2025, Con Cuong District People's Committee issued Document No. 356/UBND-NN&MT on "requesting the final handling of illegal wood chipping facilities". Accordingly, Con Cuong District People's Committee requested the Chairman of Chi Khe Commune People's Committee to urgently conduct inspections and final handling of illegal wood chipping facilities, causing negative public opinion among the people, and report the results to the District People's Committee before March 10, 2025.

The document clearly states: If the situation is not resolved and illegal wood chip facilities continue to operate, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Khe commune must take full responsibility before the Chairman of the District People's Committee and according to the provisions of law. Upon receiving this document, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Chi Khe commune is requested to seriously implement it./.
