Do Luong district announced African swine fever epidemic
(Baonghean.vn) - Test results showed that the dead pig at Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa's house in Long Minh hamlet, Minh Son commune tested positive for African swine fever.
On the afternoon of April 5, Do Luong district organized the destruction of pigs according to the process, at the same time preventing African swine fever in Minh Son commune.
Previously, on April 3, at Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa's house in Long Minh hamlet, Minh Son commune (Do Luong), a 175 kg sow suddenly died. Mr. Hoa reported to the local authorities and veterinary agency to come and check.

Upon receiving the news, veterinary staff of Do Luong district arrived and discovered that the dead pig showed signs of African swine fever: bleeding on the skin, especially in the ear area, diarrhea and constipation.
Test results on April 4 showed that the sample tested positive for African swine fever. On the same afternoon, Do Luong district destroyed two sows, including the dead pig and one sick pig in the same pen with a total weight of 322 kg.

On the evening of April 4, Minh Son commune set up two checkpoints in Long Minh hamlet to control the transportation of pigs and vehicles in and out of the epidemic area.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Son - a veterinary officer of Minh Son commune said: "The whole commune currently has about 1,600 pigs, mainly small-scale farming. Immediately after the epidemic broke out in the area, we set up 2 quarantine checkpoints, in addition, we widely announced on the loudspeakers of the hamlets and communes so that people could know and raise their spirit of disease prevention.
Up to now, Minh Son commune has been provided with 24 liters of disinfectant chemicals and purchased 500 kg of lime to sprinkle on roads and pig farms.
On the afternoon of April 5, Do Luong district organized the destruction of the remaining pigs of Mr. Hoa's farm, with a total of 5 sows and 21 piglets.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan - Head of the District Department of Agriculture and Rural Development said: Early afternoon on April 5, the People's Committee of Do Luong district issued a document announcing African swine fever in Minh Son commune.
Thus, up to this point, African swine fever has appeared in the districts of Quynh Luu, Nam Dan, Tan Ky and Do Luong.

It is known that on April 4, in Long Minh hamlet, Minh Son commune, 5 pigs out of the 50 pigs of Nguyen Cong Thuc's family were sick. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - hamlet chief of Long Minh hamlet said that right after Thuc's family reported that the pigs were sick, he informed the commune veterinary officer.
In Xuan Son commune (Do Luong), 3 pigs belonging to Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung's family in hamlet 5 were also sick. The veterinary agency took samples for testing. It is worth mentioning that Xuan Son commune is adjacent to Minh Son commune where the epidemic has just occurred.
