(Baonghean.vn) - With 25/25 votes in agreement, Do Luong district was proposed by the Steering Committee for National Target Programs for the period 2021 - 2025 of Nghe An province to be recognized as meeting New Rural standards in 2022.

On the afternoon of March 6, the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting of the Steering Committee for the National Target Programs for the period 2021 - 2025 of Nghe An province to discuss and vote on the proposal to consider and recognize Do Luong district as meeting new rural standards in 2022. Comrade Nguyen Van De - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting, attended by representatives of departments, branches, and leaders of Do Luong district.

AllDo Luong district32/32 communes have been recognized as meeting the New Rural standards, reaching 100%. There are 5 communes meeting the Advanced New Rural standards, reaching 15.625%. Do Luong town meets the civilized urban standards. 100% of the Program's basic construction investment projects are implemented in accordance with the procedures of the Public Investment Law. Up to now, Do Luong district has no outstanding basic construction debt in implementing the new rural construction.

With the drastic participation of the entire political system from the district to the grassroots level, the average GRDP growth rate over the past 10 years has always been maintained at a fairly high level, the economic structure has shifted in the right direction; the annual budget revenue reaches over 300 billion VND, and in 2022 it will reach nearly 490 billion VND. The district has more than 15,000 workers working abroad, sending back over 200 million USD annually; the average income per capita increased from 23.2 million VND in 2010 to 65.76 million VND in 2022, of which the rural area reached 57.83 million VND/person/year....

The socio-economic infrastructure in Do Luong has been focused on and invested in upgrading to better meet development needs. By the end of 2022, the district will have 3 national highways and 6 provincial roads with a total length of 180 km passing through the area; over 1,050 km of asphalt and concrete roads have been invested in; 100% of communes have convenient car roads to the commune center; the intra-field traffic and irrigation systems have been invested in and upgraded.

Health and education have developed comprehensively. Investment attraction work has been innovated from the stage of organizing meetings, calling for and promoting investment, promoting the image, potential and investment opportunities of the district. The number and scale of investment projects are increasing.

In 10 years, the district has attracted 1,796 investment projects with a total investment capital of VND 23,688 billion, including 1,680 investment projects from the higher budget with a capital of VND 11,282 billion; attracting organizations, individuals and enterprises to invest in 116 projects with an investment capital of VND 12,009 billion; of which foreign direct investment capital is VND 5,300 billion. Up to now, 83 projects have been put into operation, contributing to creating jobs for thousands of workers.

At the meeting, delegates discussed and gave opinions on the process of building new rural areas in Do Luong district and voted to propose recognizing Do Luong district as meeting new rural standards in 2022. The result was 25/25 votes in favor, reaching 100%.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De acknowledged the efforts of Do Luong district in implementing the National Target Program on new rural construction in recent years.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that in the coming time, the district needs to continue to do well the key tasks: Complete the dossier to submit to the Central Appraisal Council on new rural construction so that the Central New Rural Office can propose the Government to recognize the district as a new rural district as soon as possible; continue to improve the criteria on infrastructure, people's income, build green, clean and beautiful landscapes, environment...
