Hung Nguyen district is recognized as meeting new rural standards in 2023
The Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1423/QD-TTg dated November 19, 2024 on recognizing Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province as meeting new rural standards in 2023.
The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committee of Nghe An province to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directed the People's Committee of Hung Nguyen district to continue to maintain and improve the quality of criteria, focusing on production and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in new rural construction.
After more than 10 years of efforts to implement the National Target Program on New Rural Construction with many good, creative and practical methods, Hung Nguyen district has completed the criteria.

The whole district has 17/17 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 4 communes meet advanced new rural standards, 1 commune meets model new rural standards, and Hung Nguyen town meets urban civilization standards.
The average growth rate of the district in the period 2010 - 2015 reached 9.48%, then in the period 2021 - 2023 it was 13.53%; in which, in 2022 and 2023, it ranked first in the province.
Average income in 2010 was only 15.9 million VND/person/year, but by 2023 it will increase to 52 million VND/person/year. The poverty rate will decrease from 14.9% to 1.49%.
The whole district has invested nearly 4,090 billion VND to build and develop the homeland; of which, the people contributed nearly 1,060 billion VND, accounting for 26.5%.
The district has focused on investing in cultural facilities, meeting the needs of cultural, artistic, physical education and sports activities. The appearance of the countryside is increasingly spacious, green, clean and beautiful.
Historical relics and cultural traditions are constantly preserved, promoted and developed; the quality of education and health care is guaranteed and always ranks at the top in the whole province. Security and order are guaranteed; people enjoy a full life in terms of material and spiritual things...
Up to now, Nghe An province has 320/411 communes meeting new rural standards; 101 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; 16 communes meeting model new rural standards; 10 district-level units completing tasks/meeting new rural standards.
It is estimated that by the end of 2024, the whole province will have 327/411 communes meeting new rural standards; 127 communes meeting advanced new rural standards; and 25 model new rural communes.
The whole province has 11 district-level units that have completed their tasks/met new rural standards: Vinh City, Thai Hoa Town, Nam Dan, Yen Thanh, Nghi Loc, Hoang Mai Town, Quynh Luu, Do Luong, Dien Chau, Hung Nguyen and Nghia Dan.
