Nam Dan District held a meeting with priests on the occasion of Christmas 2014.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of December 17th, the People's Committee of Nam Dan district organized a cordial meeting and discussion with priests and chairpersons of pastoral councils of parishes in the district. Representatives from the Catholic Solidarity Committee, pastoral councils of parishes and sub-parishes, and religious orders in the district also attended.

Nam Dan district comprises five parishes: Yen Lac, Thuong Nam, Quy Chinh, Van Loc, and Trang Den; 19 Catholic communities and religious orders with nearly 14,000 parishioners living in 13 communes and towns. Implementing the Party and State's religious policies, over the past year, the Catholic community in Nam Dan has consistently upheld the spirit of reverence for God and love for the country, strictly adhering to the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws. They have actively participated in labor and production, developing the economy, and continuously improving their material and spiritual lives in line with the overall socio-economic development of the district. In particular, parishioners from various parishes and communities have voluntarily donated thousands of square meters of land, contributed thousands of man-days of labor, and donated hundreds of millions of dong to jointly build new rural areas.
At the cordial meeting, the leaders of the People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Dan district acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the District Catholic Solidarity Committee, religious leaders, officials, and parishioners in the district's emulation movements and campaigns. Through the exchange of information on socio-economic development, national defense and security, and the building of the political system, representatives of the Catholic Solidarity Committee and the pastoral councils of parishes and communities also expressed their agreement, trust, and commitment to continue working alongside the government and Fatherland Front at all levels, encouraging parishioners to build upon their achievements and promote the movement of "Catholics competing to build and protect the Fatherland," and "living the Gospel, serving God, serving the Fatherland and the nation."
