Tan Ky District solemnly celebrated its 60th anniversary and received the Second Class Labor Medal.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of April 18, the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Ky district solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the district's founding (April 19, 1963 - April 19, 2023) and receive the Second-class Labor Medal.
Attending the ceremony were comrades: Dinh Nhu Hoan - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper; Lieutenant General Tran Vo Dung - Party Secretary, Political Commissar of Military Region 4; and delegates from central ministries and branches.On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrades: Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and comrades in the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Ngoc Kim Nam - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; Nguyen Nam Dinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Le Hong Vinh - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Bui Thanh An - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Pham Trong Hoang - Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Colonel Phan Dai Nghia - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Nguyen Thi Kim Chi - Secretary of the Party Committee of the Provincial Agencies; Phan Duc Dong - Secretary of the Vinh City Party Committee; and leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, departments, branches, localities, and leaders of Tan Ky district through the periods.

60 YEARS OF BUILDING THE HOMELAND OF EVERY COUNTRY
On April 19, 1963, the Government of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam) issued Decision No. 52-CP dividing the three districts of Anh Son, Nghia Dan, and Quy Chau into seven districts: Anh Son, Do Luong, Tan Ky, Nghia Dan, Quy Hop, Quy Chau, and Que Phong. From here, Tan Ky district officially became an administrative unit on the map of Vietnam.
When it was first established, Tan Ky district had 13 communes, of which 3 communes were separated from Anh Son district, the remaining 10 communes were separated from Nghia Dan district. Through the process of construction and development, up to now the whole district has 22 communes and towns with a total population of over 150,000 people, the homeland of many villages.

Delivering a speech at the ceremony, comrade Bui Thanh Bao - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the District Party Committee emphasized that during the war, Tan Ky was a solid rear base, providing manpower and resources to the front line. 1,286 sons of Tan Ky homeland heroically sacrificed their lives and over 1,400 people left behind a part of their blood and bones on fierce battlefields.
After the country's reunification and the renovation process, from the desolation and ruins, Tan Ky has made quite comprehensive progress in the fields of economy - society, national defense - security and Party building. The Party Committee and people of Tan Ky have promoted the spirit of national solidarity, quickly healed the wounds of war, and built an increasingly developed homeland.

From a low starting point, as a poor mountainous district, with an economy mainly based on self-sufficient production, Tan Ky has gradually risen to build a concentrated commodity production. The average growth rate is 10%, the economic scale ranks 4th among 11 mountainous districts of the province. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction. The average added value per capita in 2022 is 44.2 million VND.
It is expected that by the end of 2023, the whole district will have 17/21 communes meeting new rural standards, 20 3-star OCOP products. The socio-economic infrastructure system has been invested in, upgraded and expanded step by step to meet development needs; urban infrastructure continues to receive investment attention, many projects are being implemented. Tan Ky is an attractive location for investment in industrial - handicraft and agro-forestry economic development.

The cultural and social fields have achieved many proud results, with 86.3% of schools meeting national standards, a bright spot in the province's education sector. Party building, political system building, and national solidarity work have received special attention, and security and order have been maintained.
In recognition of the great sacrifices and contributions over the past 60 years, at the 60th anniversary of the district's establishment, the Party Committee and people of Tan Ky district were honored to receive the Second Class Labor Medal from the President; and received a banner from the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province with the content: "Party Committee, government and people of Tan Ky district: 60 years of solidarity, innovation, creativity, construction and development".
BUILD TAN KY TO SOON BECOME A COMPREHENSIVELY DEVELOPED DISTRICT IN THE WESTERN NGHE AN REGION
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Duc Trung - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee warmly congratulated, commended and highly appreciated the efforts and proud achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of all ethnic groups in Tan Ky district have achieved over the past 60 years.

In order to build Tan Ky district to become stronger and more prosperous, soon becoming a comprehensively developed district of the Western Nghe An region, contributing to the whole province's successful implementation of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Ky district to continue implementing the Action Program of the Resolution of the 21st District Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025.
Promote economic restructuring towards increasing added value; synchronous development and creating links between economic sectors, types of production and business; promote the application of science and technology, innovation, creativity, improve labor productivity, efficiency and competitiveness of products; focus on the fields of processing and manufacturing industries, develop products in which the district has advantages.

Focus on implementing district planning work comprehensively and scientifically, in accordance with the specific development requirements of the locality.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested the district to focus resources on developing infrastructure, especially connecting traffic infrastructure, key traffic, and urban infrastructure to create a new look for Tan Ky to develop smoothly. Promote and attract investment in areas where Tan Ky has advantages, in which it is necessary to clearly define the order of priority such as: High-tech agriculture, mineral exploitation and processing, construction materials, and garment.

On the other hand, the district needs to mobilize, allocate and effectively use resources, create momentum for rapid and sustainable economic development, especially effectively implement 3 national target programs.
Taking advantage of potentials and advantages, investing in developing tourism into an important economic sector of the district, mobilizing resources to invest in developing eco-tourism, community tourism, cultural and historical tourism. Managing and using land and mineral resources effectively and rationally; focusing on environmental protection and responding to climate change.

The head of the Provincial People's Committee also requested Tan Ky to continue to preserve and promote traditional cultural values of the nation; improve the quality of education; pay attention to caring for and protecting people's health; carry out well the work of poverty reduction, social security, and improve the material and spiritual life of the people.
Promote administrative reform and strongly improve the investment and business environment. Maintain the goal of ensuring national defense, security, foreign affairs, and social order and safety.
