Thanh Chuong district lacks 27 commune police officers
(Baonghean.vn) - This information was given at a meeting between the Provincial People's Council's Legal Committee and Thanh Chuong District People's Committee on the afternoon of March 19 according to the committee's survey program on the implementation of resolutions issued by the Provincial People's Council in the legal field.

Working with the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district, the working delegation of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council acknowledged the seriousness and timeliness of the district and its agencies in implementing and bringing the Resolutions issued by the Provincial People's Council into life.
Thereby contributing to supplementing equipment for the police, militia, self-defense, and civil defense forces as well as ensuring their regimes and policies, contributing to creating conditions to improve the quality of performing the tasks of the forces, maintaining order and security in the entire district.
However, in addition, practice is also posing some limitations. That is, the decentralization of spending tasks under the district and commune budgets according to Resolution No. 54/2016/NQ-HDND for militia forces in some establishments has not been ensured. Specifically, the district budget alone only ensures 10.8/19.6 billion VND of the 2017 estimate and 11.8/22.9 billion VND of the 2018 estimate.

In addition, currently, the arrangement of commune police is not in accordance with the prescribed staffing level, the whole district is lacking 27 commune police officers. Of which, there are 5 commune police chiefs; 9 deputy commune police chiefs; 7 permanent police officers; 6 police officers.
Not only lacking in quantity, some commune police have limited ability to handle situations, lack of flexibility, are rigid and focus on punishment, lack explanation and propaganda...
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council Thai Thi An Chung acknowledged the seriousness and responsibility of the Party Committees and authorities at all levels in Thanh Chuong in implementing and bringing the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council into life.

Sharing the difficulties with the locality, the Deputy Head of the Legal Committee of the Provincial People's Council also raised the issue that currently, the district is lacking some commune police positions in some localities and in the past, these localities have still ensured security and order in the area. So, the issue is whether it is necessary to study to arrange and streamline the commune police force or not.
