Chelsea are looking to overhaul their defence in the summer transfer window and Dean Huijsen has emerged as a top target.

However, to carry out this deal, The Blues are forced to liquidate players who are no longer in the plan, in which Benoit Badiashile is said to be the one who has to be sacrificed.

According to a source from Italy (Inter Live), Chelsea is ready to sell Badiashile to raise funds to recruit Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth - a deal valued at around 60 million euros. Currently, Inter Milan is closely monitoring the situation of the French midfielder and may take action in the near future.

Joining Chelsea from AS Monaco in January 2023, Badiashile was once highly expected as one of the most promising young centre-backs in Europe. However, injuries and inconsistent form have prevented him from securing a permanent starting position. This season, Badiashile has only made 17 appearances and played less than 1,500 minutes in all competitions.

Competition in the Chelsea squad is not easy at the moment, when names like Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah or new recruit Tosin Adarabioyo are all being rated higher by coach Enzo Maresca. That makes Badiashile's chances at Stamford Bridge even more dim.

Inter Milan are also looking for long-term replacements as their two defensive pillars, Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij, are both getting older. Badiashile, at 24, with untapped potential, is considered an ideal option for the Serie A champions.

For his part, Badiashile also needs a new environment to revive his stalled career. A move to Inter Milan – a team that regularly competes in the Champions League – could be an important turning point for the French centre-back.

If the sale of Badiashile is completed, Chelsea will have more funds to push ahead with plans to recruit Dean Huijsen, who is expected to strengthen the defense under Enzo Maresca. This summer promises to be a busy one at Stamford Bridge as the Blues are determined to build a new, more solid framework.
