Minh Kha April 19, 2018 19:46

Toyota Vios is considered the "king of sales" thanks to its brand, stability and resale value, while the "newbie" Hyundai Accent is determined to usurp the throne with many features but an attractive price.

Toyota Vios is currently the leading car model in sales not only in the B-class sedan segment but also in the Vietnamese automobile market. The practicality, durability and ability to retain the value of Vios have helped this car model always hold the title of best-selling car, peaking at 2,681 cars sold in June 2017.In addition, Vios has a sales advantage partly thanks to batch sales contracts with transportation businesses.

Leaving the B segment open recently, Hyundai Thanh Cong has now launched the all-new "trump card" Hyundai Accent with eye-catching design, many convenient features but a very attractive price.

Will the “newbie” Accent be able to gain an advantage over the “sales king” Vios? A detailed comparison between the two highest-end versions, Accent 1.4 AT Special and Vios 1.5 G AT, to see the difference.

The Accent's appearance is quite youthful and modern thanks to the 2.0 flowing sculpture design language. Hexagonal grille, headlights with LED daytime running lights, and modern LED taillights. The rear of the car is sharp. 6-spoke gray wheels. This design is suitable for young, modern customers.

The exterior design of the Vios is neutral with many gently rounded lines with a plump overall look. 8-spoke silver wheels. This design helps the Vios to suit the majority of users and "stay in shape" over time.

Price and reviews

According to the selling price announced by Hyundai Thanh Cong and Toyota Vietnam in April 2018, the highest version of Accent 1.4 AT Special is priced at 540 million VND and Vios 1.5 G is priced at 565 million VND. Accordingly, Vios has a selling price 25 million VND higher than Accent.

Accent has advantages in design, equipment and lower price while Vios has advantages in brand, stability and resale value.

The “newbie” Accent has the characteristics commonly found on Korean cars with eye-catching design, interior with many amenities/safety features and a more competitive price. However, the “sales king” Vios still has the advantages of brand, practicality, durability, after-sales service and the ability to retain value that are deeply ingrained in the subconscious of many Vietnamese people.
