The 15,000th Hyundai Santa Fe assembled in Vietnam leaves the factory

The 15,000th Hyundai Santa Fe just rolled off the production line is a special diesel version, with a CRDi diesel engine with a capacity of 202 horsepower and maximum torque of 441 Nm.

On June 7, at the factory in Ninh Binh, Hyundai Thanh Cong produced the 15,000th Santa Fe after nearly two and a half years of this global SUV being assembled in Vietnam.

The 15,000th Santa Fe is a special diesel version, equipped with a CRDi diesel engine, using electronically controlled variable valve timing (eVGT) technology for a capacity of 202 horsepower at 3,800 rpm and a maximum torque of 441 Nm at 1,750-2,750 rpm. To celebrate this milestone, 105 black Hyundai Santa Fes were arranged to form the number 15,000 in the company's factory premises.

The 15,000th Hyundai Santa Fe is a special diesel version, equipped with a CRDi diesel engine, producing 202 horsepower.

According to the manufacturer, the Santa Fe assembly line is directly transferred from Hyundai Motor Group with modern technologies such as automatic painting lines. In particular, the welding line has 6 automatic welding robots. The entire welding process will be pre-programmed directly, then the robot will automatically clean the welding torch in a cycle of 200 welding points.

The robot's operations are monitored by a system of surrounding sensors. If there is any deviation, the robot will automatically stop working and report an error. This helps ensure that the products have the same global quality standards.

The domestically assembled Santa Fe has many advantages to compete directly with its rival Toyota Fortuner.

As of June 2017, within 2.5 years, Hyundai Thanh Cong's production line has produced 15,000 vehicles for the market. Retail sales of this model reached more than 400 vehicles/month. In the roadmap of this manufacturer, there will be more other car models to be assembled instead of imported completely.

In addition to the special diesel version, the Santa Fe assembled in Vietnam also has 3 other versions including 2 gasoline versions and 1 standard diesel version. The selling price ranges from 1.09 to 1.75 billion VND.
