Incheon lost their fourth consecutive match on the day Cong Phuong started.
In the match of round 6 of K-League at 2 pm on April 6, Incheon United lost 0-2 away to Jeonbuk FC. Striker Nguyen Cong Phuong continued to start this match.
Incheon entered the match against Jeonbuk FC with the intention of winning to relieve the pain after 3 consecutive losses. Due to the injury of main striker Stefan Mugosa, Cong Phuong was used by coach Andersen in the highest position in the attack.
In the first minutes, this arrangement worked when Cong Phuong helped Incheon have some brilliant attacks to threaten Jeonbuk FC's goal. However, when the home team Jeonbuk got into the rhythm of the match, Incheon was immediately defeated.
In the 16th minute, Jeonbuk opened the scoring after taking full advantage of a mistake by the away team's goalkeeper Jeong-san. The scorer was Moon Seon-min, a former player of Incheon.

The following minutes saw Incheon play with a lack of ideas and determination. The away team's defense also made mistakes, stepping on each other and not having the necessary precision in clearing the ball. Luckily for Incheon, Jeonbuk FC did not take advantage of any opportunities during this period.
Entering the second half, Incheon entered the game with enthusiasm but immediately received a cold shower in the 48th minute. This time, the away team's defense continued to make mistakes when the ball was stolen right in the penalty area, creating conditions for Jeonbuk FC to easily coordinate and defeat goalkeeper Jeong-san.
Cong Phuong was completely lost in this match. Number 23 could not compete with the tall defenders of the opponent and was seriously starved of the ball. In the 76th minute, Cong Phuong was taken off the field.
The minutes without Cong Phuong on the field saw Incheon have a few chances but missed them all. Losing 0-2, Incheon suffered their 4th consecutive defeat and maintained their 11th position out of 12 teams in the K-League rankings.
Next round, Incheon will face Ulsan Hyundai at 2:00 p.m. on April 14.
