FC Utrecht approved Ivar Jenner to attend SEA Games 33, confirmed team leader Sumardji. U22 Indonesia also called Mauro Zijlstra, Dion Markx and will train from November 10-29.
Indonesia U22 has called up Ivar Jenner for the campaign to defend the Gold Medal at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. FC Utrecht has approved the 2004-born player to return to serve the U22 team, and according to the confirmation of the head of the delegation, Sumardji, Jenner was present in Jakarta on Sunday evening (November 9).
Ivar Jenner returns to Indonesia U22 team
Last October, Jenner was called up to the U22 Indonesia team for a training session but could not participate because FC Utrecht had not agreed to release him, as he had just returned from injury at that time. This time, the Dutch team officially allowed Jenner to join the U22 Indonesia team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.
Impressing Vietnam with two 1-0 victories
Jenner is no stranger to Vietnamese fans. The Dutch-born player participated in both of Indonesia's 1-0 wins over Vietnam, respectively at the 2023 Asian Cup and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Asia. His continued call-up shows that U22 Indonesia wants to maintain continuity in personnel for the goal of defending the championship.
Two other naturalized faces: Mauro Zijlstra, Dion Markx
Besides Jenner, coach Indra Sjafri also called up two other naturalized players, Mauro Zijlstra and Dion Markx. Both were born in the Netherlands and are playing in Europe.
Mauro Zijlstra currently plays for Volendam in the Dutch National Championship and has played 3 times for the Indonesian national team. Meanwhile, Dion Markx has played for the Indonesian U20 and U23 teams. The presence of this trio helps the Indonesian U22 team have more personnel options before the regional conference.

In the immediate future, U22 Indonesia will train in Jakarta from November 10 to 29, 2025 to complete the force for SEA Games 33. In this tournament, U22 Indonesia is in group C with the following opponents:

- Singapore
The goal is clear: to defend the gold medal won at the previous SEA Games. With FC Utrecht agreeing to release players and the addition of naturalized players, U22 Indonesia is accelerating for the final stage before entering the pressure-filled month of December.
