Indonesia offers to host Trump-Kim summit
Indonesia is ready to host if the US and North Korean leaders plan to meet to discuss peace on the Korean peninsula.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo meets with North Korean ambassador todayAn Kwang Il and South Korean Ambassador Kim Chang-beom at the Presidential Office. "If there is a plan for a meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump, we propose to be the host country. We are ready to host the meeting,"Xinhuaquoted Mr. Widodo as saying after a meeting with ambassadors.

Mr Widodo said the meeting with the two ambassadors followed a summit between Mr Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in last week. "Indonesia fully supports the meeting and looks forward to the agreements that will take place, hoping to have a positive impact on the peace process in the region and the world," he said.
The US president and North Korean leader are expected to meet in late May or early June. Mr Trump has said he has narrowed the venue to two. Sources have quoted US officials as saying Singapore is the top choice to host the event. Thailand also expressed its willingness to host the meeting last week if contacted.
