According to Indonesian police spokesman Inspector General Setyo, the two suspects have links to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS) organization. They used low-grade explosives similar to those used in the Bandung attack in February this year.
The two attackers detonated the first bomb outside a public toilet and the second near a bus stop about 10 metres from where the first bomb exploded. The two bombs were contained in pressure cookers and contained nails to increase their lethality. The twin bombings killed five people and injured 10.
Indonesian police discovered a receipt for purchasing pressure cookers, scrap aluminum, nails, cables and other materials for bomb making at a shop in Padalarang, West Java on May 22.
Indonesian police are continuing to expand the investigation to clarify information about the suspects.
