Internet Việt Nam đi quốc tế sẽ ổn định từ 26/10
The problem with the AAG international submarine cable on October 12 could be completely resolved after two weeks.
Mr. Quoc Hoan (Cau Giay, Hanoi) who regularly works with foreign partners said that these days he has to stay up until 2-3am to send documents because the Internet is very slow. "Normally, it is difficult to access the Internet during peak hours in the evening, but the days when the cable is broken, my work is even more affected," he complained.
Similarly, Ms. Thanh Thuy (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi) also complained that the Internet speed last week was significantly reduced. "I find that using the Internet in Vietnam is quite cheap, but the quality is unstable. I hear that the cable is constantly broken, and users are in a passive position."
According to an Internet Service Provider (ISP) in Vietnam, the AAG submarine cable system had a problem on October 12 at the S1i segment. This disruption affected Internet connections from Vietnam to international destinations in the direction of Hong Kong.

How fiber optic cable is repaired
The signal loss on October 12 was the fourth time the AAG submarine cable had a problem in 2017 alone.Carriers claim to have contingency plans in place for unusual situations, but there are still groups of users affected.
At the end of August 2017, not only AAG but also two other international submarine cable lines, SMW3 and Lien A (IA), simultaneously encountered problems. By the beginning of October, these systems had restored 100% of the transmission channels.
