iPhone 7 Plus will have 3GB RAM, waterproof
Apple will upgrade the RAM of next year's iPhone 7 Plus, according to a market research firm.
On November 23, market research firm TrendForce released its latest report on the iPhone models expected to be released next year. According to the firm, "Apple will launch the 4-inch C-series iPhone in the second quarter of 2016. The next iPhone (currently called the "iPhone 7") will be released in the second half of the year. The main attractions of this iPhone will be 3GB of memory on the 5.5-inch model and water resistance."

Previously, leaked rumors also confirmed that Apple will soon launch another 4-inch iPhone model as early as next summer, a quarter earlier than the iPhone 7. TrendForce's research did not reveal anything about the main iPhone line (4.7 inches), but Apple probably will not launch two new iPhone models with very different configurations.
The new report from TrendForce also predicts that Apple will sell 260 million iPhones in 2016, up 12.5% from 2015. Apple's market share next year will be 18.5%, while Samsung's market share is expected to fall 4% to 22%, equivalent to 310 million units sold. The reason for this decline is that "Samsung's flagship models this year have reached their ceiling in terms of configuration, so the Korean company will find it difficult to bring hardware breakthroughs to the next generation of smartphones." TrendForce also asserts that Samsung will face many difficulties against Chinese competitors who are currently selling products at very cheap prices.
