Iran warns of consequences for US after Trump's 'unprecedented bombing' threat
Such statements go against the UN Charter and the safeguards of the International Atomic Energy Agency, according to Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei.

TASS reported on March 31 that Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said on the same day that US President Donald Trump's threat to start bombing Iran if negotiations fail goes against the essence of peace and security, and Washington will face consequences if it follows this path.
“A public threat to ‘bomb’ Iran from a head of state is a shocking affront to the very essence of international peace and security… Violence only begets violence, peace begets peace. America can choose either path…; and accept the consequences,” he wrote on the social media platform X.
According to Baghaei, such statements go against the United Nations Charter and the safeguards regulations of the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said in his Eid Al-Fitr sermon on March 31 that he did not believe the US would intervene militarily but warned that Washington would receive a strong response if it tried to incite unrest in Iran.
Trump said on March 30 that he planned to impose secondary tariffs on Iran in the next two weeks unless progress was made in talks over Tehran's nuclear program. "If they don't make a deal, there will be bombing," Trump warned, adding: "It will be a bombing like you've never seen before."
