On January 8, Iranian media quoted a statement by the country's Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri affirming that the US cannot continue to pressure and sanction Iran for a long time.
Speaking at an economic forum in Tehran, Mr. Jahangiri said that it was Washington that created the terrorist group Al-Qaeda and the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS).
However, Iran has confronted these two organizations, forcing US President Donald Trump to admit that the US has spent 7,000 billion USD in the Middle East region without any positive results.
According to Mr. Jahangiri, the US cannot prolong sanctions against Iran because Washington's measures against Tehran are completely baseless and unreasonable.
The US withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran reflects a policy of “bullying,” showing that Washington does not want to see a strong Islamic Republic in the region./.
