Iran says Trump's 'cruel' policies undermine peace, international order
(Baonghean.vn) - Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani said that the "cruel" policies adopted by US President Donald Trump during his term have created tension in the world, undermining global order and international peace.

The senior Iranian lawmaker made such a point in a speech on April 7 before the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) held in the Qatari capital Doha.
Mr. Larijani mentioned the US withdrawal from the INF Treaty with Russia, its trade war with China and European countries, its withdrawal from the Paris Climate Agreement and the Iran nuclear deal, and its “cruel” actions in Jerusalem and the occupied Palestinian territories. He said such actions by US politicians have undermined peace and security in the world.
Larijani also pointed to Washington's recent decision to recognize "Israeli sovereignty" over the Golan Heights, and asserted that giving part of Syrian territory to Israel was ridiculous.
“This abnormal behavior is both illogical and inconsistent with the decisions of the United Nations and the international legal order,” he said, praising the UN Security Council for being vigilant enough to reject the decision.
The Iranian official also mentioned the US's "regrettable" stance on recent floods in Iran, along with its move to block the delivery of international aid to the Iranian Red Crescent Society.
“Just compare the US Secretary of State’s unwise humanitarian behavior with America’s hypocritical slogans,” he said, referring to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s exploitation of a national emergency in Iran to once again attack the Islamic Republic.
Earlier, in a statement last Tuesday, Mr. Pompeo asserted that Tehran's response to the floods showed a level of "weakness in urban planning and emergency preparedness"./.
