Iran will retaliate against any new Israeli attack 'within seconds'
(Baonghean.vn) - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani said that Israel's attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Syria on April 1 was a strategic mistake.

According to TASS news agency, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani said Tehran would respond to any new Israeli attack on the Islamic republic “within seconds.”
He warned that if Israel decides to target Iranian territory again, it will surely receive a heavier blow. "The response that Israel will receive this time will not be measured in days or hours but in seconds," the senior Iranian official was quoted as saying by the IRNA news agency.
Kani described Israel's attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Syria on April 1 as a strategic mistake.
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said that although Tehran does not seek to escalate tensions in the Middle East, it will respond to "any illegal or unjustified measures" against the republic.
On the evening of April 13, Iran launched several drones and missiles towards Israel in response to what it called "repeated crimes" from Tel Aviv, including an attack on the consular office of the Iranian Embassy in Damascus that was allegedly carried out by Israel.
Tehran state media said military facilities in Israel were targeted.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it intercepted 99 percent of the nearly 350 projectiles fired at Israel, causing minor damage to Nevatim Air Base.
