Iran will defend itself if the US initiates a clash
Tehran does not want war with Washington, but will defend itself if the United States initiates a clash with Iran, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif told Sputnik.

"It is clear that those who started the US war with Iraq in 2003 are trying to trigger another war with Iran. It is suicide for them. Some people in the government of US President Donald Trump are trying to start such a war, for them this is nothing less than suicide."
"Iran never wants war with anyone and will not wish for it to happen. But if the US initiates any clash with Iran, we will defend our national interests and our country with all our might," the Iranian minister added in response to a question about the possibility of war between Iran and the United States.
