Iran vows to retaliate against Israel, IDF kills Hezbollah commander
Iran's leaders have said they do not want war with Israel, but are ready to respond appropriately to Tel Aviv's attacks on its military facilities.
"We are not looking for a war, but we will defend our national interests. We will give a befitting response to Israel's aggression," Al Alarabiya quoted Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian as saying in Tehran on October 27.

Mr. Pezeshkian then warned that if Tel Aviv continued to be aggressive, tensions would continue to “spread.” At the same time, the Iranian president also criticized the US for supporting Israel.
“The US promised to end the war in exchange for Iran’s restraint. But they have not kept that promise,” said Mr. Pezeshkian.
It is known that the above statement of Iranian President Pezeshkian was made just a few hours after Israeli leaders said that "the goal of the raid on the morning of October 26 was achieved, and thanked the United States for its close cooperation and support".
IDF soldiers kill Hezbollah commander
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on October 27 that its air force recently killed Ahmed Jafar Maatouk, commander of the Hezbollah armed group, in the Bint Jbeil district of Nabatiyeh province, Lebanon.
“Shortly thereafter, we also neutralized Maatouk’s successor, along with the Hezbollah artillery commander in the Bint Jbeil area. All three of these individuals had directly participated in numerous attacks against Israeli civilians, as well as IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon,” the IDF statement said.

Hezbollah has not yet commented on the content of the statement.
