Iraq: Multiple bombings leave over 110 casualties.

On May 20, a series of car bomb attacks occurred in the Iraqi capital Baghdad and the southern city of Basra, killing at least 31 people and injuring nearly 80 others.

According to police sources, two consecutive car bomb attacks in the oil-rich city of Basra killed at least 11 people and injured 30 others.

Meanwhile, five car bombs planted in various locations across Baghdad exploded, killing approximately 20 people and injuring more than 40. Local officials said the death toll could rise as victims were being treated at different hospitals and medical centers.

In recent days, the Iraqi people have been repeatedly facing bloody attacks. On May 17th, two bombs exploded near a Sunni Muslim mosque in the city of Baquba, north of Baghdad, killing 41 people and injuring 57 others.

Meanwhile, a bombing on May 16 also resulted in over 40 casualties. Violence and bomb attacks are frequent occurrences in the provinces and cities of Iraq.
