Iraq: Bombing in Baghdad leaves over 50 dead or injured.

AP and Reuters reported that Iraqi authorities said a car bomb attack near a market in a town northeast of Baghdad killed 14 people on the night of June 6.

Police officials said the attack took place in the predominantly Shiite Muslim town of Balad Ruz and left 37 people injured.

This town is only 70km from Baghdad.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the bombing, but the Islamic State (IS) group frequently claims responsibility for attacks targeting security forces and Shiite Muslims.

In related developments on the same day, starting on June 5th, US and allied forces conducted 14 airstrikes against IS in Iraq and 7 airstrikes against the jihadist group in Syria.
