IS uses "balloon bombs" to attack Russian fighter jets in Syria
Bizarre footage has emerged of Islamic State (IS) militants inflating condoms and strapping them with explosives in the hope of creating "balloon bombs" to attack Russian warplanes conducting airstrikes in Syria.
According to the Daily Star, the video appears to have been edited in the style of previous IS propaganda videos, with Arabic chants in the background.

This footage shows Russia hitting targets so accurately that IS is now resorting to “safer” methods of attack. The strange bombs are believed to have been dropped into the sky from the Syrian city of Idlib.
The three-minute video begins with hooded IS fighters hanging dozens of condom bombs from the ceiling of an abandoned room with Arabic writing on the walls.
This is followed by a scene of a large six-pronged bomb being dropped into the sky from an open field.
Another section of the tape shows dozens of bombs tied together in long rows, waiting to be dropped into the sky.
The video ends with the camera panning skyward, capturing hundreds of bombs floating in the sky. This is probably the strangest balloon release this year.
Russia has not hesitated or wavered in bombing IS facilities since it began its offensive in Syria last September.
The airstrikes destroyed many war vehicles, equipped trucks and heavy weapons, forcing IS to switch to using horses for transportation.
Earlier this week, a Russian airstrike destroyed an underground IS bunker in Syria./.
