Will IS provoke near Russia's southern border?
(Baonghean.vn) - Russian Deputy Interior Minister Igor Zubov said on January 28 that Islamic State (IS) militants are using helicopters to move from Pakistan to the Tajikistan border, near Russia's southern border, and are likely preparing a large-scale provocation accompanied by "forcing refugees to flee to Russia".

Speaking at the Russian Interior Ministry's summary session on Tatarstan, Mr. Zubov stated: "A large number of IS militants are using unidentified helicopters to move from Pakistan to the Tajikistan border. It seems that preparations are underway for large-scale provocations, with a long-term plan to force a large number of refugees to flee with all the consequences that will arise for the Russian side."
In addition, according to Mr. Zubov, special attention should be paid to people from Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, although in practice they are beginning to appear "more law-abiding".
"We see that there is a migration of people from certain countries. Although by some criteria they are starting to become more law-abiding, we need to pay special attention to their ideology and intentions," said a top Russian Interior Ministry official.
